Group Workshop 2

Auditioning & The Biz

This workshop was created specifically for newcomers to the audition scene, offering practical tips and insights for navigating auditions and the entertainment industry with confidence. We cover the essentials, including what to wear, what to bring, how to organize your audition book, and how to create the perfect self-tape setup - a crucial skill in today's digital audition world. Additionally, you’ll receive valuable advice on seeking representation and building your network within the industry, key steps for anyone starting out. This workshop will help you lay a solid foundation for your performing arts career and take the first steps towards turning your aspirations into achievements.

Group Workshop 3

Intro to VocalMotion

Today’s performers are expected to sing and dance simultaneously, yet the industry standard is to train singing and dancing separately. VocalMotion is MVPS’s response to this hole in performance training. Intro to VocalMotion seeks to give performers the tools to find synergy between their singing and dancing techniques so they can more healthily and efficiently execute challenging song and dance routines. This workshop starts by covering the basics of relevant anatomical structures and the breath mechanism to give context before diving into VocalMotion techniques designed to integrate singing and movement skills. Students will then be taken through a warm-up, exercises, and a song and dance combination that incorporate both physical and vocal elements giving them the chance to practice and internalize the techniques introduced. Laying the foundation early for healthy performance technique is the best way to ensure a healthy and enduring performance career.

Group Workshop 4

Masterclass

Expertise meets passion in Performance Masterclasses! This unique masterclass format allows a select number of students to receive one-on-one coaching in a class setting, offering both performers and observers an opportunity to delve into engaging stage presence, advanced vocal techniques, and emotional storytelling. While each student takes their turn in the spotlight, their peers gain invaluable insights by listening and observing, learning from each personalized coaching session. This collaborative learning environment fosters a deeper understanding of the artistry and technical skill required for professional performance, making it an ideal setting for those serious about pursuing a career in the arts. Whether on stage or in the audience, all participants will leave with new perspectives, techniques, and inspiration to apply to their own singing journey.

Q & A

Ever wondered what it takes to make it from the Midwest to the bright lights of Broadway? There’s certainly more than one path, but with a Q&A session you can hear what that path was like for MVPS’s founder Kayleen Seidl - an actress whose decade of professional performance career spans an impressive array of experiences, from regional theatre and cruise ships to national tours, Off-Broadway, and most recently Broadway in both leads and ensemble roles understudying principal parts. This is a unique chance for aspiring performers and theater lovers to uncover the realities of building a successful career in the performing arts, learn about the resilience and versatility needed to navigate the industry, and get inspired by personal stories of triumph and challenge. Bring your questions and come enjoy an engaging and motivational discussion that could illuminate your path in the arts or simply satisfy your curiosity about the behind-the-scenes world of Broadway.
