  • "Kayleen brings an expertise and positive approach to the craft of singing. In a short time, she has brought me to a level of quality and confidence in my voice, vocal technique, and repertoire. If you are a singer, actor or dancer who strives to be a multi-threat performer, I highly recommend this seasoned pro!"

    Janine Molinari
(Artistic Director of Dance Molinari, AEA/SAG-AFTRA, SDC)

  • "Kayleen knows exactly what to say when. Normally I feel kind of icky and weird sending industry emails but Kayleen alleviated all of that fear with her approach. I felt that she really understood the nuance that I was trying to convey and she made it happen. This email helped me build a connection in a real and authentic way that I’m proud of."

    Laura Park
    (Professional Actor)

  • "I recently had the privilege to take a VocalMotion class. To say I am obsessed is a true understatement. No one is speaking about breath management when it comes to being a triple threat. It’s confusing and very much overlooked. Having the resources to work on the trifecta in one room is a true blessing."

    Nick Raynor
(Yiddish Fiddler on the Roof Off-Broadway, A Chorus Line National Tour)

  • "I reached out to Kayleen a few months before moving and she was incredibly friendly, encouraging, and had so much helpful information. She really knows the ins and outs of this industry. From questions about your resume to the best neighborhoods to live in, she is definitely the girl to ask. I promise you will learn a lot from her!"

    Aravis Leininger
    (Actor/Singer/Dancer)

  • "Once I made the move to New York City to pursue my dreams as a dancer, I quickly realized I also needed to act and be able to sing. I made it a goal of mine to find a voice coach that encouraged and pushed me. When I found Kayleen, I immediately knew she was that person. With lots of hard work and her guidance, I feel so much more confident in my singing."

    Katie Armstrong
    (Professional Dancer)

  • "Kayleen’s teaching style is simple, straightforward, and very knowledgeable. I genuinely enjoy doing our vocal technique exercises and warmups — staples I used to view as a necessary evil. Her work with consonants is helping me overcome many years of defeat searching for different ways to access certain parts of my voice. Our work has brought me much hope and joy, and all of this over Zoom! I cannot recommend her enough!"

    Sunny Vinsavich
    (SAG-AFTRA Actor and Stunt Performer)

  • "Whether I’m preparing for a big Broadway callback or cozy cabaret performance, working with Kayleen is a MUST. She is my favorite vocal coach in the city for working through acting moments and making my pieces impactful. She helps you find your connection to the music AND guides your storytelling. It absolutely makes a difference!"

    Kalea Leverette
(Broadway’s Harry Potter and the Cursed Child)

  • "As someone who has always struggled with being able to get the proper breath support to sing while moving my body, lessons with Kayleen this class helped me to understand not only that it is doable to sing and dance at the same time, but how to have the confidence and proper technique to do such a thing. I couldn’t be more grateful!"

    Sydney Yargeau
(BFA Musical Theatre - Marymount Manhattan College)

  • "I found VocalMotion to be really helpful in incorporating movement with song. It is a unique experience, taught in a positive non judgmental atmosphere. As an actor singer, I've always found learning dance combinations challenging, but with VocalMotion, was able to pick up the combo much quicker than usual, and also feel like it freed up my voice."

    Marilyn Matarrese
    (Co-Star of Viral TikTok @PattyandPatty - 912K followers)

  • "Performers are expected to dance and sing at the same time, without ever practicing or learning how to do it. By developing classes that begin with combining simple dance movements with 3-dimensional breathing and phonation, the performer is far more likely to succeed - giving them not just better movement, but healthier, more optimal voicing. Intro to VocalMotion is a ‘must take’!"

The Why

Behind Moving Vocals

At the heart of its philosophy, Moving Vocals Performance Studio acknowledges that singing is more than just vocal technique; it's an art form that requires physical engagement and emotional depth. Performers across all genres must integrate movement and singing whether kneeling during an aria or executing a kickline while belting out harmonies.

Beyond the physicality, "Moving Vocals" signifies the importance of touching the hearts of audiences through compelling storytelling, aiming to evoke emotions and create memorable experiences.

And finally, the idea of "moving" extends to the aspirational journey of each student, emphasizing the studio's commitment to guiding them toward advancing their careers and achieving their dreams.

MVPS strives to be a safe space where students can explore the depths of their artistry, ensuring that every aspect of their performance, from the technical to the expressive, is nurtured and celebrated.
